How XPEL PPF Saved This Off-Roading Enthusiast’s Paint
If you’re passionate about off-roading, you know how quickly rocks, tree branches, and road debris can ruin your vehicle’s paint. Scratches, chips, and scuffs are almost inevitable—unless you have Paint Protection Film (PPF).
One of our recent clients decided to test XPEL PPF to the limit. After having select areas of his vehicle wrapped, he took his truck on a rugged trail adventure. By the time he returned, the car was covered in dirt and scratches. But here’s where it gets interesting.
Real-World XPEL PPF Protection in Vancouver
This client had his vehicle partially wrapped with XPEL PPF at Twiisted Wrap, before heading off-road. Vancouver’s rugged terrain, tree branches, and rocky paths were sure to put the film to the test.
After an intense off-roading session, his car looked like it had taken serious damage. Scratches, scuffs, and rock debris were all over the body. But the real test came when we removed the PPF
The Real Test: PPF vs. Unprotected Paint
When we removed the PPF layer, the results spoke for themselves:
Protected Areas – The paint remained flawless, as if the car had never been off-road.
Unprotected Areas – Clear scratches, rock chips, and scuffs were visible, requiring touch-ups.
This side-by-side comparison was the perfect proof of how well PPF works. It absorbs impact, prevents permanent damage, and keeps the original paint looking brand new.
